When you contact me via the contact form or by email, the data you submit (name, email address, content of the message) is processed for the purpose of handling your enquiry. This data is transmitted exclusively via an encrypted SMTP connection (port 465, SSL) to my email address and is not stored in any database on the server.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries). The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose of processing and no statutory retention obligations apply.
